After spending many years in the Pentagon and other top-level commands, including as the Commanding Officer of one of the largest Army installations in the country (Camp Grayling)- Colonel (Ret.) Erich Randall, who also holds a PhD in leadership- is not a man of inaction. Upon retirement from the U.S. Army, Col. Randall struck out and founded On-Point Strategic Leadership, where his experience and skill-set as Senior Strategist and Military Planner, working with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and serving as Director of Strategy for the Chief of the National Guard Bureau- can be applied to the civilian sector. On-Point Strategic Leadership is a firm whose aim is to help organizations and their leaders achieve strategic objectives through a unique system of strategy and planning.
And if starting a business was not enough to keep this active man busy in his "Retirement", Col. Randall also is the author of a book- Tame the Chaos: Solving Complex Problems to Achieve Strategic Objectives.
Col. Randall and I met while I he was at Camp Grayling and I worked for U.S. Senator Carl Levin. Over the years we have enjoyed malt beverage meetings and have frequented several local breweries always under the I pick, you buy philosophy- with Right Brain being one of our favorites. Therefore it was great to connect with Erich while he was in town recently and sit down over a pint at Right Brain to learn more about the latest with On-Point, his book and what he was working on these days.
